Polaroid as a format officially died in 2009 when the last boxes of commercially made polaroid film reached their sell-by date. I used to love polaroid as in the days before camera phones and digital they provided an instant and takeaway glimpse of whatever you had been working on. I got into the habit years ago of keeping all the spare polaroids from whatever shoot I’d been doing and for me they now provide a unique record of Redemption and my related work and looking at them again jog a few memories as well.
Polaroid has had a rebirth over recent years with a Management Buyout creating what is now known as the Impossible Project and classic brands such as Fuji and Leica now producing instant print cameras and medium.
